How do I create additional linked Organisations?

Modified on Tue, 10 Dec, 2024 at 2:58 PM

If your business has separate entities in your accounting software you can set up Linked Organisations.

  Important:

You must be a system administrator in order to access this functionality.

Set up the master organisation with Categories, Tags, Vehicles and Tax. By completing these settings first, you have the option to copy these into your linked organisations, saving you time with setup.

To set up a linked organisations

1. Go to: Setup>Settings>Organisations tab.

2. Click on the '+Organisation' button in the right-side menu.

3. Complete the Organisations Name and Home Currency.

4. Tick box: Copy Categories, VAT, Tags and Vehicles from ‘Master organisation’

You have a one-time-only opportunity to copy across the setup of Categories, Tags, VAT and Vehicles from the Master organisation and save you time recreating the setup for each linked organisation.

Note: if you tick the box, you are still able to edit the setup for the linked organisations e.g. Categories – change the GL codes and enter a different company VAT registration number.

5. Click the '+Create' button to save.

All other system setup areas need to be completed for the new linked organisation

Note: A person can only be set up as a user in one organisation.

Note:  You can set up Approval Flows with Line Managers that are in different organisations.
